NOTES: As the old vines round the corner to 50, there aren't two plants that are identical in the whole block. It's a boring story and sounds a bit cliched but it's all about drilling down on the smallest details. With the regular Summa, you notice the fruit first but here it is savory making the initial impression. Forest floor, damp loam, pine resin, red flowers, anise and the greatest stamp of minerality of all the wines in the Rivers-Marie lineup complement the red fruit/orange zest profile. A little black tea comes in on the finish adding a perception of structure to the fruit tannin that starts early on the palate.
