Notes: The vineyard that yielded this label stretches between the Mancino and Lirano MGAs, enjoying western exposure and located at an altitude between 250 and 400 m asl. The soils found here are part of the Lequio Formation, characterized by abundant limestone and gray marl that alternate with sandy substrates. These characteristics endow the wines with distinct features expressed by intense and complex aromas, an important structure and strong tannic texture.
100% Nebbiolo planted in the early 1970s in guyot. Destemming operations that did not involve crushing brought almost whole grapes into the tanks. Cold maceration begins within 36-48 hours, followed by alcoholic fermentation, with a few daily pumping overs to ensure slow and delicate extractions. Maceration in contact with the skins lasts for about 20-25 days; malolactic fermentation is then followed. Aging for 24 months in large 25-hl French oak barrels.
